Sudha Murty's Stance On Gender Equality: "Men And Women Are Equal But..."

Author-philanthropist and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty shared a video on Thursday, explaining what gender equality means to her.

"In my view, men and women are equal but in different ways. They complement each other like two wheels of a bicycle; you can't move forward without the other," she
captioned her post.

The video opens with her saying, "What is equality? You should define first". The former Infosys chairperson then adds that both genders are different, and goes on to
defend her statement in the rest of the video.

According to her, women are "normally very good at languages". They are excellent managers, compassionate and giving. Men, on the other hand, are "different," Murty said. "They are wired differently. Their emotional quotient is not like women... They may have a good IQ (intelligence quotient) but they definitely don't have a good EQ (emotional quotient)," she mentioned.

With nearly 5000 views, her X clip has amassed close to 300 likes and mixed comments.

"So true!!" wrote one user.

"Very true. On same page," said another.

"True. Both face hard of life. Without both nature is not complete," approved a third.

Sudha Murty, known not only as an accomplished author but also as the former chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, is married to NR Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys. The couple has two children: Akshata Murty, who is a businesswoman and married to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Rohan Murthy, who co-founded a technology firm specializing in AI.

Recently, Sudha Murty took oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha in March.
