Sonia Gandhi meets farmers hit by rain, hailstorm in Rajasthan
Kota, Mar 20: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday arrived here for a one-day visit to meet farmers who have suffered crop and livestock losses due to unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm earlier this week.
After landing at Kota airport, she went to Darbiji village in Sultanpur Panchayat, nearly 35 kms from the city where she met with the farmers, talked to them about the losses and consoled them.
Gandhi, who is accompanied by AICC General Secretary Gurudas Kamat, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, PCC President Sachin Pilot and other leaders, is scheduled to visit another village.
