Sisodia threatens to 'fix' Delhi police if they fail to act
New Delhi, Jan 17: There seems to be no respite for the ongoing cold war between Delhi Government and Delhi Police. In the latest, state's Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday made a controversial statement saying the party will ‘fix' the police. The police force does not come under Aam Aadmi Party's jurisdiction.

"There are rapes happening in the city, sex and drug rackets are being run openly, but police is doing nothing. We will not stay quiet, this isn't the Sheila Dikshit Government. We are being accused of vigilantism, but we are a different Government", said Sisodia.

"This Government won't make any excuses like Delhi Police is not under us, they will have to do their duty. Police has to act. We will fix the police even if it doesn't come under us," Sisodia told reporters at the Secretariat.

Sisodia's comments came two days after a Danish woman was gang raped in the state. The woman was robbed and gang raped under knife point. The victim left the country on Wednesday and has agreed to cooperate with the investigation. So far, three people have been arrested related to the case.

On Thursday, Delhi police commissioner Bassi assured the Delhi-ites that the state is 'in safe hands'.

Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to meet Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in the evening on Friday over the issue.

Earlier o Thursday, Kejriwal and his Cabinet colleagues Rakhi Birla, Somnath Bharti and Manish Sisodia met Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung at his residence where Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi was also present along with the four police officials. Police were strongly slammed by the AAP ministers.

At the meeting, Kejriwal and the ministers raised the issue of women's safety in the capital while calling for the suspension of the three SHOs and the ACP for their alleged refusal to act against criminals.

Somnath Bharti alleged that sex and drug trade are prevalent in Delhi and Delhi police has been protecting the criminals.

The demand for suspension was refused by Commissioner Bassi, who refuted the allegations raised by the AAP leaders.
