The decision was made after senior BJP leaders, including Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, met with Mr. Naidu and Mr. Kalyan on Monday to finalize the list of candidates.

The alliance between the BJP, TDP, and Jana Sena was announced by BJP chief JP Nadda on March 9. In a joint statement, the parties expressed their commitment to the progress of the country and the upliftment of Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP, previously part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, expressed interest in reviving the alliance after its defeat in the 2019 elections. Mr. Naidu's party had left the NDA over the issue of financial support for Andhra Pradesh.

The Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in April-May, with the BJP aiming for a third term and setting a target of winning 370 seats on its own and 400 with allies.
