Saradha scam: Did Mukul Roy meet Sudipta Sen at someone's behest?
Kolkata, March 30: Had Mukul Roy attended meetings of the Saradha group? If the answer is yes then did he attend them on his own was he asked to?
This is an important answer that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is seeking before it files a chargesheet in the Saradha case. [Saradha chit fund scam, nightmare for WB CM, TMC leader Mamata Banerjee: Explained]

The fresh chargesheet, which would deal with the larger conspiracy in the case, would also go into other aspects which would speak about the alleged role played by some officers of the RBI and also SEBI with whose help the Saradha flourished illegally.
Mukul Roy to be questioned again:
Before filing the chargesheet which would deal with the larger conspiracy, the Central Bureau of Investigation would question Mukul Roy again.
CBI officials tell Oneindia that the date is not fixed but it will be anytime soon.
Roy had during the last round of questioning said that he had done no wrong. He was forthcoming with the CBI. [Disgruntled TMC leader Mukul Roy 'admits on camera' he secretly met Narendra Modi?]
However, during the investigation it was found that Roy had attended meetings of the Saradha group. We need to find out why he had attended those meetings.
More importantly we also need to find out if he had attended those meetings on his own will or was he asked by some one to do so, CBI officials also point out.
The meeting that is in question is the one he is alleged to have held with the mastermind of the scam, Sudipta Sen.
The meetings that Sen had before he fled West Bengal are of extreme importance to the CBI.
The agency believes that these meetings were held just before he fled from West Bengal and hence the details are important to find out if anyone had helped him leave the place.
The CBI has questioned Kunal Ghosh and Madan Mitra about the same aspect as well. It was Kunal Ghosh who had in fact given out a list of names of persons who are alleged to have met Sen and plotted his escape. [Mamata too involved in Saradha scam, should be replaced as Bengal CM: Kunal Ghosh]
The CBI seeks to know whether Roy had any part in helping Sen leave West Bengal. We have information that there was a meeting, but was it at someone else's behest, the CBI officer also says.
Many in RBI, SEBI to figure in the chargesheet:
The chargesheet will make some startling revelations about how officers in the Reserve Bank of India and the SEBI played an alleged role in the scam.
There have been at least 8 to 9 instances to show that some officers deliberately looked the other way when the scam was growing.
Some officers were informed about what was going on, but chose to look away.
The Serious Frauds Investigation Office which had also probed the incident points extensively towards the involvement of some officers in RBI and SEBI who did not fulfill their duty as a result of which the scam took place.
The SFIO had clearly stated in its report that it was unable to probe several officers and politicians in west Bengal as none of them were cooperating.
It had recommended that the CBI would have to go in to these aspects while giving them the names of the officers and politicians alleged to be involved in the Rs 2500 crore scam.
