Three Alumnae from Punjab's Armed Forces Preparatory Institute Commissioned as Flying Officers in IAF
Three graduates from the Punjab government's Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls in Mohali have been commissioned as Flying Officers in the Indian Air Force. Harnoor Singh, Kritee S Bisht, and Alisha successfully completed their training at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal, Hyderabad. The passing out parade was overseen by Air Chief Marshal A P Singh.

Commissioning Details and Family Background
Harnoor Singh and Alisha have joined the Education Branch, while Kritee S Bisht is now a Flight Controller in the Administration Branch. Harnoor's father, Vikram Singh Bains, is a school principal from Pathankot. Kritee's father, Shakti Sharan Singh, works as an engineer. Alisha's father, Sunil Dutt, teaches at a private school in Jalandhar.
Inspiration for Future Generations
Punjab's Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, Aman Arora, expressed that their achievements will motivate more young women from Punjab to consider careers in defence services. The state government initiated an NDA Preparatory Wing for Girls at Mai Bhago AFPI in July 2023. The second batch of trainees is currently undergoing their training.
Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu (retd), Director of the institute, highlighted that this success will boost the state government's initiatives to encourage more girls to join the armed forces. The achievements of these alumnae are expected to inspire many others to follow in their footsteps.
