Pune Police Submit Evidence Against Teen in Fatal Porsche Crash to Juvenile Justice Board
In a significant development in the Pune car crash case, police have presented a detailed report to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) against a 17-year-old boy implicated in a fatal accident. The incident, which occurred in Kalyani Nagar on May 19, resulted in the tragic loss of two software professionals. The juvenile, accused of driving a Porsche and causing the accident while under the influence, is currently held at an observation home.

The police's submission to the JJB includes comprehensive evidence aiming to establish the teenager's involvement. This evidence encompasses eyewitness accounts, CCTV footage, and indications of alcohol consumption prior to the accident. Authorities are pushing for the juvenile to be tried as an adult, citing the severity of the offence and the gathered proof of his direct involvement.
Further complicating the case is the revelation that the juvenile's blood samples were allegedly swapped with those of his mother. This act was purportedly carried out to obstruct the investigation and has led to additional arrests. Among those detained are the minor's parents, two doctors - Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Halnor - and a hospital employee, Atul Ghatkamble. They face charges related to their alleged participation in the manipulation of evidence.
Additionally, police have apprehended two intermediaries who reportedly facilitated financial transactions between the juvenile's father, a noted builder, and medical professionals involved in the blood sample swap. This development underscores the lengths to which individuals might go to evade legal consequences, further complicating an already intricate legal matter.
The case has garnered attention due to its complex nature involving underage drinking, high-speed driving, and alleged tampering with medical evidence. As it progresses through legal channels, it highlights challenges in dealing with juvenile offenders in severe criminal acts and raises questions about accountability and justice.
