Prof Kalburgi murder: Police release sketches

Bengaluru, Sep 2: The CID probing the murder of Professor M M Kalburgi have released the sketches of two persons.

The two persons shown on the sketch are believed to have carried out the murder of Professor Kalburgi.

The sketches have been prepared on the basis of both the eye witness accounts and also imagery the police have obtained through the CCTV.

The police have also announced a reward for any information leading up to the two persons.

The CID which is probing the case has formed four teams. On team is in Maharashtra after intelligence suggested that the killers could have come from that state.

We are probing all angles into the case including persons the police informed. The Karnataka state government has handed over the probe to the CID yesterday.

The government has also written to the CBI asking whether it could take over the probe.

The CCTV imagery which the police has clearly shows two persons speeding away on a motor cycle after committing the murder.

The footage also shows the two killers signalling to two persons seated in a car suggesting that the job has been done.
