PM Narendra Modi wishes nation on New Year

New Delhi, Jan 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended New Year wishes to citizens of the country and expressed hope that the year 2015 brings immense happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone's lives.

"Wishing you & your family a wonderful 2015! May this year bring immense happiness, peace & prosperity in everyone's lives," he tweeted on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, President Pranab Mukherjee greeted the country on New Year's eve and urged people to dedicate 2015 to create an "inclusive society" and promote "tolerance and understanding" among all communities.

"I extend warm greetings and best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year. Let 2015 be a year of peace, progress and harmony. Let us abhor violence and maintain maximum vigilance against all efforts, from within or without, to disturb peace and security," Mukherjee said in his message.
