PM Narendra Modi to speak extempore on Independence Day?

New Delhi, August 14: As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to deliver his maiden speech on the eve of 68th Independence Day at the Red Fort in the national capital on Friday, there has been lot of buzz going on whether Modi will go extempore speech or will he read the scripted teleprompter speech.

As per NDTV report, sources said that Modi will just carry a set of points to elaborate his impromptu speech.

Sources were even quoted as saying, "Even if it rains, the PM has asked that no umbrella should be put up and he will continue his speech in rain."

Modi is widely known for his natural oratory skills without the help of teleprompter.

PM Modi, who is expected to reach Red Fort at 7.20 am, will hoist the national flag after receiving the 'Guard of Honour' by the armed forces.

Mod's speech is likely to last for 45 minutes up to an hour. Over 10,000 people are expected to witness the first Independence Day speech by Modi.

Modi is expected to unveil an ambitious financial inclusion scheme on the Independence Day to provide bank accounts to 15 crore poor persons with an overdraft facility of Rs 5,000 and accident insurance of Rs 1 lakh. [Read more]
