PM Narendra Modi calls his govt "Kaam ki Sarkar" in Mann Ki Baat

New Delhi, June 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, June 28, talked on a range of topics from the successful commemoration of the inaugural International Day of Yoga to take 'selfie with daughters', during his popular radio programme, "Mann Ki Baat."

During his 25 minutes address, PM Modi lauded people for sharing pictures of Incredible India on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

While throwing light on the International Day of Yoga, Modi said, "The rays of the sun were welcomed by Yoga all over the world on Yoga Day on 21st June."

"On 21st June when I saw the glimpses of UN Secretary General doing Yoga at the UN Headquarters, I felt happy", he said.

"The way in which Yoga was respected by the entire world, there won't be a single Indian who wouldn't be proud", he added.

Modi also emphasised that the world needs good yoga teachers.

"Yoga day should not be limited to one day. Keep practicing yoga and you will see the results", Modi asserted.

"'Kaam Karti Sarkar', this is how I see the events of the past few days". Modi said.

Modi also highlighted the AYUSH department (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) and hailed for leading the awareness about International Yoga Day.

Modi also praised his government's efforts for carrying out the rescue operations and evacuation process in quake-hit Nepal and conflict-hit Yemen.

PM also said, "Last month we launched 3 social security schemes. In a short time more than 10 crore people can benefit from these schemes."

On the festival of Raksha Bandhan, that is celebrated in August every year, Modi said, "On Raksha Bandhan can we present these schemes worth Rs 12 or Rs 330 to our sisters?"

On protecting the environment, Modi said, " Every drop of water is important. It is important to conserve every drop of water. In this season, let us plant as many trees as possible."

"Three schemes for urban development were launched. 'Waste to wealth', we need to give importance to this and take things ahead", Modi said.

Modi also talked about a village Sarpanch in Haryana, who has initiated a 'Selfie With Daughter' initiative.

"I urge all of you, share a 'Selfie With Daughter'. Also share a tagline that will encourage 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' andolan", Modi said.
