PM Modi Predicts BJP Victory In Jharkhand As Manifesto Promises UCC, Jobs, And Housing

Just two weeks before Jharkhand Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory in the upcoming state assembly elections.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), he announced that the people of Jharkhand have already shown their support for the BJP.

"The people of Jharkhand have declared victory for the BJP in the assembly elections," PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter). "With enthusiasm for democracy, I look forward to connecting with my dear people in Garhwa around 11:30 am and in Chaibasa around 3 pm today."

Modi's visit to Garhwa and Chaibasa follows the release of the BJP's manifesto by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday. Shah, unveiling the party's Sankalp Patra (manifesto) for Jharkhand, emphasized the party's commitment to implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state and vowed to take action against illegal immigration from Bangladesh, with promises to reclaim lands occupied by infiltrators for tribal communities.

Among the manifesto's key promises, the BJP pledged to provide 21 lakh families with concrete homes equipped with tap water connections. The party has also proposed plans to address unemployment by creating 287,000 government jobs and 500,000 self-employment opportunities.

Further, the BJP's Laxmi Johar Yojana promises gas cylinders at Rs 500, with two free cylinders provided annually. For farmers, the party promised to buy paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal, with payments directly deposited into farmers' bank accounts within 24 hours of procurement.

The two-phase Jharkhand Assembly elections are set for November 13 and 20, with results scheduled for November 23. In the last assembly election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, the BJP 25 seats, and Congress 16 seats, indicating a competitive political landscape for this election cycle.
