PM Modi In Nagpur Today To Pay Tribute To RSS Founders, Will Visit BR Ambedkar's Deekshabhoomi As Well
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Nagpur today to pay tribute to the founding leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Smruti Mandir, coinciding with Gudi Padwa.
He will offer homage at the memorials of RSS founder K.B. Hedgewar and second Sarsanghchalak M.S. Golwalkar at Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir. Additionally, PM Modi will visit Deekshabhoomi to pay respects to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, where he embraced Buddhism in 1956.

During his visit, the Prime Minister is expected to lay the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, an extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute and Research Centre.
The new facility will feature a 250-bed hospital, 14 outpatient departments, and 14 modular operation theatres.
He will also visit the Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited's ammunition facility to inaugurate a 1,250-metre-long airstrip for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and a live munition and warhead testing facility.
Following his time in Nagpur, PM Modi will travel to Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh to lay the foundation stone and dedicate multiple development projects worth over ₹33,700 crore. These projects span sectors including power, oil and gas, rail, road, education, and housing.
Security measures for the visit are extensive, with the Prime Minister's convoy including 20 special vehicles equipped with VIP protection and radio-controlled improvised explosive device (RCEID) jammers.
Over 5,000 police personnel, including Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, Anti-Riot Squad, and Quick Response Team members, have been deployed, along with 900 traffic police officers managing the roads.
