PM Modi Emplanes For 5-Day Visit To 3 Nations; To Attend G20 Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a five-day journey to Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana. This visit marks the first time in 17 years that an Indian Prime Minister is visiting Nigeria. The Ministry of External Affairs described the trip as 'action-packed,' highlighting its significance in strengthening international ties.
In Brazil, PM Modi will participate in the 19th G20 Summit from November 18 to 19. As a Troika member, India will play a crucial role in shaping the agenda. The focus will be on Global South priorities, building on India's previous presidency achievements. Discussions will align with the vision of 'One Earth, One Family, One Future.'

Strengthening Ties with Nigeria
The Prime Minister's visit to Nigeria follows an invitation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This trip aims to enhance strategic partnerships based on shared democratic values. PM Modi expressed eagerness to engage with the Indian community and Nigerian friends who have warmly welcomed him.
During his stay in Guyana, PM Modi will make history as the first Indian Prime Minister to visit in over fifty years. He plans to address the Guyanese Parliament and honour the Indian diaspora there for over 185 years. The visit aims to strengthen ties based on shared heritage and culture.
Engagements in Guyana
In Guyana, PM Modi will also participate in the 2nd India-CARICOM Summit alongside Caribbean leaders. This summit provides an opportunity to renew historical connections and explore new areas of cooperation. The meeting underscores India's commitment to standing by its partners through various challenges.
The Prime Minister's itinerary includes bilateral and multilateral engagements designed to boost India's relations with these nations. His participation in diverse programmes is expected to add momentum to India's international ties.
Brazilian G20 Summit Participation
PM Modi's statement highlighted his anticipation for meaningful discussions with global leaders during his visit. He intends to further bilateral cooperation while attending the G20 Summit in Brazil. The summit offers a platform for exchanging views on pressing global issues.
This journey also marks PM Modi's second meeting with Nigerian President Tinubu, following their encounter at the G20 meeting in September 2023. Such interactions are pivotal for fostering diplomatic relationships between India and other countries.
The visit reflects India's ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence on the global stage by engaging with key international partners across continents.
