Pics: Mumbai streets get choked in 2-day rain; lakes yet to fill
Mumbai, July 11:Mumbai has been witnessing incessant rains since the past 2 days, clogging various important spots in the city like Hindmata, Mahim junction, Kurla west and Chembur. The BMC disaster management, however, claim that the situation is under control.
Ironically, when people are wading through water with great difficulty, the lakes are yet to be filled up. The catchment area of the lakes has hit a 5-year low with the BMC planning to increase the water cut to 30 per cent. A high tide alarm has been set, which predicts tides as high as 4.36 meters. Luckily, the local trains are still running smoothly.
