Out On Bail, Manish Sisodia Posts Pic With Wife: 'First Morning Tea Of Freedom...'

Manish Sisodia, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and senior AAP leader, shared a poignant moment on social media after being released from Tihar Jail on Friday evening.

Having spent 17 months behind bars, Sisodia posted a morning selfie with his wife, holding a cup of tea, and expressed his emotions in a heartfelt message. He wrote, "First morning tea of freedom... after 17 months!"

Reflecting on the deeper meaning of freedom, Sisodia linked his experience to the constitutional rights of all Indians.

He wrote on his official X handle, "The freedom that the Constitution has given to all of us Indians as a guarantee of the right to live. God has granted us the freedom to breathe in the open air with everyone."

Sisodia's release came after the Supreme Court granted him bail, noting that his prolonged incarceration without trial had violated his right to speedy justice.

Notably, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal remains in Tihar Jail in connection with the same Delhi liquor policy case.

Upon his release, Sisodia visited Kejriwal's residence, where he shared an emotional reunion with the Chief Minister's family. Sunita Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal's wife, was moved to tears, and Sisodia sought blessings from Kejriwal's parents.

Grateful for the legal outcome, Sisodia expressed his gratitude, saying, "I feel indebted to Babasaheb Ambedkar after this order. We have brought this legal battle to its logical end through the Constitution. I thank you all for being with me."

Sisodia was arrested on February 26, 2023, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over allegations of irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy.

On March 9, he was also detained by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of money laundering linked to the CBI probe, leading to his resignation from the Delhi cabinet on February 28, 2023.
