Not a cakewalk this time, admits Tharoor
Reporter Tv, a Malayalam television channel reported that Tharoor, in a meeting with Christian leaders in the city on Monday, said that he is facing a tough competition from Left-led LDF and BJP. He also requested the Christians in the state to vote against the BJP to avoid Modi coming to power at the Centre.
Tharoor also explained to the priests that he's being targeted by rivals in the Sunanda Pushkar's murder case.
This is Tharoor's second innings in national elections. Last time, he had won from Trivandrum with a majority of almost 1 lakh votes. Apart from Tharoor, BJP's O Rajagopal, former union minister, LDF's Bennet Abraham and AAP's Ajit Joy are contesting from Trivandrum, which has a major Christian population.
