Three Noida University Students Granted Interim Bail in Drug Trafficking Case
Three Noida University students were granted interim bail in a drug trafficking case, while six others were sent to judicial custody.
A local court in Noida, India granted interim bail on Tuesday to three university students who were arrested on charges of drug trafficking. Six others, including another student, were sent to judicial custody, according to officials.

Arrests and Charges
The accused were arrested on Monday and booked under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after being charged with drug trafficking. When produced in court, the judicial magistrate granted interim bail to three of the students—Aditya, Apoorva, and Sagar—on the grounds that they have exams to take up this week, while others were sent to jail, police said.
Reasoning Behind the Bail Grant
The court heard the bail plea of the three students and granted them bail till December 1, considering they have examinations to take up this week. The private university confirmed that exams have started from November 28. The police are consulting the prosecution counsel to get the bails canceled.
Release Conditions
The three students were released after submitting personal bonds of Rs 30,000 along with sureties of a similar amount. They have been ordered to surrender before the court on December 1.
Arrests and Drug Seizure
On Monday, the Noida police announced the arrest of nine people, including the four students, for their alleged involvement in supplying drugs to college-goers and others. The police seized various Indian and foreign-origin drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, hashish, and MDMA, estimated to be worth around Rs 30 lakh in the black market. The police claimed international links in the racket.
Details of the Accused
The arrested individuals have been identified as Akshay Kumar (32), Rajan Singh (20), Darshan Jain (21), Aditya Kumar (21), Satendra Srivastava (21), Sagar Bajaj (22), Anit Som (22), Apoorva Saxena (28), and Narendra Kumar (28).
Investigation and Further Action
The police have seized electronic weighing machines, mobile phones, cash, an SUV, and two motorcycles allegedly used for drug supply by the accused. Investigations are ongoing, and the police aim to take strict action against those involved in the drug trade.
The Noida drug trafficking case highlights the issue of drug abuse among college students and the involvement of organized criminal networks. The arrests and subsequent investigations aim to disrupt the drug supply chain and bring those responsible to justice. The focus on curbing drug trafficking and protecting the well-being of students and communities remains a top priority for law enforcement agencies in India.
