No internet at CPI(M) office: Yechury wants Union Minister Manoj Sinha to fix it
Sitaram Yechury's last day as MP of Rajya Sabha was August 11.
Complaining of internet service disruption in the party office, Sitaram Yechury has written to Manoj Sinha, the minister of state for communication. In an unlikely letter, the former Rajya Sabha MP and leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has sought the union minister's intervention to restore disrupted internet services at his party's office in New Delhi.

"Repeated complaints from our office to various authorities at the MTNL failing to yield any response, I am compelled to approach you to instruct the concerned authorities in the MTNL, falling under your ministry, to restore services immediately," the letter reads. Yechury has claimed that the CPI(M) headquarters has five Fibre-to-home connections, all from MTNL but none have been working since August 11, 2017. Incidentally, August 11 was Yechury's last day as Rajya Sabha member.
"It has been over a week now. In these days when the entire emphasis is on communication, commerce, banking etc through the internet, you can well imagine how much our work has been affected due to this disruption," Sitaram Yechury has complained in his letter to Manoj Sinha.

Not stopping at that, the CPI(M) leader has also sought an inquiry into the incident. He has sought to know if there was a deliberate attempt to interrupt internet services. "Given the urgency, I hope you will intervene and do the needful immediately," Sitaram Yechury has concluded in the letter.
While the letter comes across as bizarre, given that a union minister's intervention is sought over something as simple as internet disruption, the CPI(M) clearly succeeded in its motive, drawing attention to the state of affairs of MTNL.
