New photographs show Malaysian flight MH17 shot down by Ukrainian fighter jet

However, many experts, after examining the photographs, have described them as fake, said a Reuters report.
The photographs are said to be taken by a western satellite and were aired on a Friday in an evening news show "Odnako". The publication of the photos has come at the time of a G20 summit in Brisbane, where President Vladimir Putin has been facing strong criticism from western leaders for Russia's military action in Ukraine.
They seem to show a fighter jet firing a missile at a passenger plane over eastern Ukraine, exactly at the spot where the Malaysian airliner was shot down on July 17. All 298 people on board were killed.
Soon after the flight crashes, Moscow had said that the aircraft was destroyed by a Ukrainian military jet. But Western countries say the plane was hit by a Russian-made surface-to-air missile fired by pro-Russian separatist rebels. Nothing has been confirmed so far.
The Reuters report said that Bellingcat, a British investigative journalism website, described the photographs as "a crude fabrication". He said the photos had been partly taken from Google Earth imagery dating from 2012.
Putin, who is in Brisbane to attend G20 summit, is set to walk out of the summit after he faced severe crticism from other world leaders in Ukraine issue.
