Rahul Gandhi Visits Barber Shop In Raebareli, Listens And Notes People's Real Issues; Lauded
It is said, that in India, if you want to know the real political issues and get indulged in a discussion around elections and politicians, a barber's shop and a tea stall are the two best places to visit. People from all social, cultural, and economical backgrounds visit these places and spend their time often discuss performances of the BJP, Congress, SP, BSP, AAP, and leaders form other parties.
If somebody wants to know 'the real mood of the nation', then they must visit such places where they can found what is in voters' hearts, and what are their opinions.

Following the same strategy, former Congress president and MP Rahul Gandhi, who is also a candidate from Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli seat for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, visited a barber's shop. Here, Rahul got his beard trimmed and talked to the people in the saloon. Rahul also took feedback from the people on Congress' past performances and promises that they have made this time.
The Grand Old Party shared on May 15 dropped Rahul Gandhi's saloon visit on micro-blogging site X, in which, Congress leader can be seen having a casual conversation with the barber and asking him about his economic condition, challenges due to inflation and what expectations people have from a government.
Rahul Gandhi also asked the barber about Congress' Mahalaxmi Yojana, a promise to give Rs 1 lakh every year to every woman below the poverty line and above the age of 18 years. He also asked the barber about the mood of Raebareli and what needs to be done to develop the constituency.
Their entire conversation revolved around 'employment'.
Agniveer scheme was also a big issue raised by the barber, that he often hears people discussing in his shop. Rahul Gandhi told the local that if the INDIA bloc government comes to power, they will scrap this scheme.
"Agniveer ko toh band kar rhe hain hum. Hamari sarkar aayegi toh usko khatam kar denge (We will end Agniveer scheme once we come to power)," Rahul Gandhi says.
While sharing the video, Congress party captioned it, in Hindi, "There are immense opportunities for millions of talented youth in the country's villages, towns and cities like Raebareli. There is a need to support them. We need to assure them that you should move ahead, we are with you at every step."
Rahul Gandhi's casual style of meeting people and effort to know what is in people's hearts was lauded by thousands of social media users.
