Namo App is the new mantra for the BJP leaders and workers as PM is also watching it
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to replace Twitter with Namo App. The party has been using Twitter to tell about the working of the government and to have communication with the people, party workers and other such people. So the party has instructed all its leaders to update Namo App with every detail as and when information comes in.
As per the sources in the party, there are several dedicated groups of the BJP members of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha in this App and Prime Minister is the admin of the several of these groups. It is also insisted that Namo App should be used to answer messages of the meetings of Parliamentarians. PMO is keeping a watch on the feedback that the BJP leaders are getting region wise on this App.
Sources said that the PM was also keeping a tab on feedback because MPs and MLAs have been given the task of presenting achievement of the Modi government on completion of four years before the people. Everyone has been asked to reach out to people with the help of articles, videos and photographs. Around 50 lakh people have installed Namo App so far. So the government wants to present its achievement with the help of this App. The purpose of giving this task is that the PM wants to be in a loop that who has been entrusted what responsibility and who is doing what.
The BJP sources said that whether it is small meeting or meeting of the senior leader Namo App should be updated. These instructions have been issued to all party workers that whenever chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states meet this should be undated on Namo App. Sources said that this would help the PM to know that what is the reaction of the people on working of their MP and MLAs so it will help the party to decide Lok Sabha tickets before the next Lok Sabha elections.
The PM himself is using this App extensively whether in Karnataka election or interacting with students selected for Atal Innovation Scheme, he preferred Namo App. The BJP has been using this App that was launched in June 2015 for a platform to connect people on issues related to them. Some leaders are happy with this App for this being safe and Twitter is mostly used these days to troll. Internet connectivity in villages is also being assessed by this.
The BJP is so serious about this that people having a problem in using this App are being given a crash course on this and their main handicap is being unfamiliar with the technology. Such people have been asked to take the help of IT team. The Party organizes orientation programme on second and last Tuesday of every month. This has increased the presence of leaders on this App who were not well versed in technology. Some of the ministers have already started providing details of the work of their ministry on this App. A special training to handle Namo App was given to national office bearer, state party president and general secretaries and this process is continuing.
