Muzaffarnagar riots victims duped by village head

, Jun 3: A village head has been booked here for allegedly extracting money from some of the Muzaffaranagar riot victims on the pretext of providing residential land to them. Amount of around Rs one to two lakh has been duped by him.

The victims had saved money from the relief funds to buy land for themselves, the complaint to the police said. On directions of the district authorities a case was registered yesterday, against gram pradhan Aladeen, police added. The victims had registered a complaint against the pradhan for failing to provide land to them.
