MP has emerged as most favoured state for investment: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Bhopal, Dec 20: Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the most favoured state for investment in the country because of its good law and order situation which always helps in creating positive atmosphere for development, the State Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said here today.

"Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the most favoured state for investment in the country because of its good law and order situation," Chouhan said after inaugurating the new Police Head Quarter (PHQ) opposite picturesque Lower Lake in the state capital.

The new PHQ building is equipped with all modern facilities and was constructed with a cost of nearly Rs 46 crore. Chouhan lauded the police force in the state for dealing with dacoity, naxalism and SIMI network in the state in an effective manner.

He said that terrorism has become a major challenge in the country and has become a threat for the humanity. The Chief Minister highlighted the need for police to be humane so that people gets confidence that it is with them but it should act sternly with anti-social elements.

He also informed on the occasion that the state government has implemented a scheme for providing better housing and health facilities to the police force. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur called upon the police force to serve the people in a better way from the new building.

He also advised to beautification of the area surrounding the PHQ which is situated at the back side of the existing building. The State's Director General of Police (DGP) Surendra Singh in his welcome address informed that the new building was constructed with a cost of nearly Rs 46 crore.

The State Chief Secretary Antony DeSa and senior and retired police officials were present on the occasion.
