More trouble for Karti-Chidambaram: ED gives report on more FIPB clearances

The Enforcement Directorate has forwarded details of the clearances given for Foreign Direct Investments in four more cases when P Chidambaram was the finance minister. The details of the same were shared with the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Karti Chidambaram who is currently in CBI custody is accused of taking bribe from the INX Media to get FIPB clearance. The CBI officials confirmed that it had received the report from the ED.

However, CBI sources refused to give out more details while adding that it would take into account the ED report and question Karti about the same.

This report by the ED could spell more trouble for the father-son duo. The ED too is likely to question Karti soon about these details apart from his banking transactions.
