Earthquake: Monitoring situation, says Mamata
Kolkata, April 25: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said she was monitoring the situation after a 7.5-magnitude earthquake was felt across India and Nepal. [Follow updates on earthquake]
"We are monitoring the situation closely in Bengal especially in Darjeeling and Siliguri. Spoke to senior disaster management team and others," Mamata tweeted. [Metro services suspended in Kolkata, Delhi]

An earthquake of 7.5 on Richter scale struck various cities of India, including Delhi, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Guwahati at 11.41 a.m.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in Lamjung, Nepal.
