More than 1,500 dead as magnitude 7.8 quake rocks Nepal

New Delhi, April 25: Strong tremors were felt in the northern states of the country including Delhi, NCR, Bihar, and West Bengal due to a massive earthquake in Nepal on Saturday.

According to reports, the earthquake measured 7.9 on the Richter scale. The second after shock felt in North India region measured 6.6 on the Richter Scale.The epicentre of the earthquake is said to be in Pokhara, Nepal. Tremors were felt in Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati as well.

Massive damage has been reported in West Bengal and Nepal. Mobile networks are affected in Nepal.

Many buildings are reported down in Nepal. Tremors are still being felt in the region.

Within a few minutes of the first tremor, strong aftershocks were being felt across North India. People were rushing out of homes again.
