Millions learned first alphabet of patriotism from Netaji: Kailash Satyarthi

Kolkata, Feb 22: Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi on Monday, Feb 22 said millions of people learned the first alphabet in patriotism from the inspirational life of Subhas Chandra Bose and countrymen still owe a lot to fulfil Netaji's dream.

Satyarthi, who visited Netaji Bhawan, Bose's ancestral house-turned-museum, in the southern part of the city was shown round the historic building by Netaji Research Bureau Chairperson and Bose's kin Professor Krishna Bose.

After visiting the museum, Satyarthi said, "I am speechless! I have no words to express my feelings! Netaji, we Indians still owe a lot to fulfil your dreams. "Millions have learned the first alphabet of patriotism from your most inspirational life — as well as the language of freedom. I humbly continue in freeing children a tribute to you (Netaji)."

Later, the Nobel Peace Prize recipient posted a picture of him inside Netaji's bedroom and tweeted: "Can't control my emotions here inside this room, where Netaji Bose lived till he escaped." Netaji Bhawan, from where Bose made the "great escape" during his house arrest by the British in 1941, is currently maintained as a memorial and a research centre on the life of the great leader.
