Meet Jainam and Jivika Jain: The Dubai Siblings Who Acquired the JioHotstar Domain
In a surprising development, the domain JioHotstar.com has seen a change in ownership, now held by Jainam and Jivika, siblings from Dubai. This incident unfolded shortly after an Indian software developer acquired the domain, coinciding with the merger of Star India and Viacom18. The merger was significant as it marked the integration of Disney+ Hotstar with JioCinema into a unified OTT platform. The developer's original intention was to leverage the domain to finance his education by negotiating a sale with Reliance Industries (RIL).

However, the situation quickly escalated when a Reliance executive, Ambujesh Yadav Ji, AVP of Commercials, reached out to the developer. The developer requested £93,345, equivalent to his EMBA program fees, as a negotiation fee. Reliance rejected this request and threatened legal action, leaving the developer feeling powerless against the corporate giant. This interaction was shared by the developer on October 24, highlighting the tense negotiations.
A day after revealing Reliance's legal threats, the developer announced he had sought legal advice and intended to keep the domain. Yet, his online presence vanished shortly thereafter, and the domain was subsequently acquired by Jainam and Jivika. It remains unclear whether the developer sold the domain to the siblings or relinquished it under pressure, leading to their quick acquisition.
Jainam, 13, and Jivika, 10, are not just any siblings; they're dynamic content creators based in Dubai, known for their educational and entertaining YouTube channel. Since 2017, they have been creating family-friendly unboxing videos, DIY projects, and content centered around toys and games. Their initiative extends beyond digital content, with the Jainam Jivika Foundation aimed at supporting underprivileged children, showcasing their commitment to social causes. The foundation, led by Kantilal Shankarlal Jain and Shobha Kantilal Jain as directors, reflects the siblings' dedication to making a positive impact.
Furthermore, Jainam and Jivika are set to expand their reach with the launch of 'TalkFM, Dubai Audio,' a podcast promising to feature conversations with celebrities on themes of positivity and kindness. This venture underlines their ambition to spread positive messages and engage with a wider audience.
