The Election Commission has announced schedule for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly Elections. Elections in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20, while polling in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase on November 20.
The counting of votes for assembly elections for both the states will be held on November 23, 2024.
Additionally, dates for bypolls for vacant Lok Sabha seats have also been announced.
In Lok Sabha elections 2024, the opposition MVA has shown strength by winning 30 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats recently. Meanwhile, in Jharkhand's assembly of 81 seats, the INDIA bloc holds 44 seats, while the BJP has secured 30, with seven seats currently vacant.
