Advantage Chandrababu Naidu's TDP in Andhra Pradesh: India Today
The Mood of the Nation's February 2024 edition is based on a survey of 35,801 respondents in all Lok Sabha seats, conducted between December 15, 2023, and January 28, 2024. A health warning is provided, stating that opinion polls can get it wrong.
According to the Mood of the Nation (MOTN) poll, it is projected that neither the BJP-led NDA nor the Opposition's INDIA bloc will win any seats in the state's Lok Sabha elections this year. It is expected that the ruling YSR Congress Party will secure 41 per cent of the vote share, while the TDP is likely to receive 45 per cent.
However, the BJP-led NDA and INDIA bloc are anticipated to attain 2 and 3 per cent of the vote share, respectively. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, a significant sweep was achieved by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), which secured 22 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats.
This left the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with only three seats. Notably, no seats were won by national parties such as the BJP and Congress in the state, indicating a clear preference for regional parties among the electorate.
