The Look out Circular issued against Karti Chidambaram, son of former union minister, P Chidambaram will be decided by the Madras High Court. The Supreme Court on Wednesday sent back the matter to the Madras HC and asked it to decide on the matter.
The SC directed the Madras HC to adjudicate the matter on merits. Further the SC also said that the HC would adjudicate the matter and decide if and when Karti files an application seeking permission to go abroad.
The CBI had issued an LoC against Karti and the same had been challenged in the Supreme Court. The CBI said that the LoC was issued as he was not cooperating with the investigation and it feared that he may leave the country.
However the SC permitted Karti to go abroad on the condition that he cooperate with the probe. Following his appearance before the CBI, the SC had granted him permission to go abroad.
