Addressing the meeting, Amit Shah said that the security-centric strategy adopted by the Centre and the Chhattisgarh government, combined with infrastructure development, targeted action against the Naxal financial network and an effective surrender policy, has yielded positive results. He expressed confidence that Naxalism would be completely eliminated before March 31.
The Home Minister said that Chhattisgarh, once considered a stronghold of Naxal violence, has now emerged as a symbol of development under the double engine government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the youth of the state are making rapid progress in sports, forensic science and technical education, while continuing to preserve their cultural traditions.
Amit Shah said the government is leaving no stone unturned to completely eradicate the menace of Naxalism from the country. He stated that under the Modi government, Naxalism has reached the verge of its end and India will become fully Naxal-free before March 31, 2026. He added that Naxalism has pushed several generations into poverty and illiteracy, and the country is now on the verge of being freed from this long-standing challenge.
Stressing the importance of coordination, the Home Minister said the fight against Naxalism must remain focused and unified. He called for seamless cooperation between states and central agencies to ensure that the remaining Naxals are not able to escape to other regions.
He further said that Chhattisgarh has made remarkable progress on both the security and development fronts and emphasised that people living in Naxal-affected areas must be provided equal opportunities for development.
