Kharge Urges J&K Voters To 'Teach A Lesson' In Assembly Elections: A Call To Restore Statehood
In a passionate appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called on voters to participate actively in the ongoing assembly elections, specifically the third and final phase.
He urged citizens to "teach a lesson" to those who have taken away their statehood.

Voting is currently underway for 40 seats across seven districts, including Jammu, where more than 39.18 lakh eligible voters are set to decide the fate of 415 candidates. Kharge emphasized the importance of exercising democratic rights, stating, "This is your final chance to reclaim what was taken from you."
He took to social media platform X to remind voters that "a single vote can change your destiny," highlighting its potential to create better employment opportunities and safeguard land rights. Kharge welcomed first-time voters, emphasizing their crucial role in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
Polling began at 7 AM in key assembly segments across three border districts, with tight security in place. As a backdrop to this call to action, previous phases of the elections have shown promising voter turnout, with 61.38% recorded in the first phase and 57.31% in the second. The results of this election are set to be announced on October 8, marking a significant moment for the union territory as it seeks to redefine its political landscape.
