Jammu and Kashmir Election Results 2024: J&K BJP Chief Raina Confident Of Victory, Predicts 30-35 Seats
Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina voiced his confidence on Tuesday, asserting that the party will emerge victorious in the Union Territory, predicting it will secure 30 to 35 seats and form the government.
The counting of votes for the 90-seat Jammu and Kashmir assembly is set to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Raina, who is contesting from the Nowshera Assembly constituency, performed a pooja ahead of the vote count. "We are certain that the BJP and its allies will achieve a full majority. We expect to win 30-35 seats," he said.
"BJP has worked tirelessly for the people of J&K. We are confident of winning with a clear majority, securing 30-35 seats. Independent candidates supported by the BJP will also achieve victory," Raina added.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Kavinder Gupta echoed Raina's optimism, expressing similar confidence in the party's success.
He said, "The BJP has guided J&K on a path of development, moving away from stone-pelting. We have freed the region from separatism, terrorism, corruption, and dynastic rule. By shifting from bullets to ballots, from terrorism to tourism, the people have voted for BJP, and we will emerge as the largest party, ready to form the government."
According to CVoter exit polls on India Today, a hung assembly is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, with the National Conference-Congress alliance likely to win 40-48 seats. The BJP is projected to secure 27-32 seats, while the Mehbooba Mufti-led People's Democratic Party (PDP) might win 6-12 seats, and other parties, including independents, are expected to take 6-11 seats.
Despite the BJP's weak prospects in the Valley, which has 47 seats, exit polls suggest the party may finally gain a foothold there. In Jammu, however, the party is projected to maintain its dominance, potentially winning 27-31 seats out of 43.
