Indore's New Flyovers Inaugurated by CM Mohan Yadav to Alleviate Traffic Issues
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated four flyovers in Indore, costing over Rs 200 crore. He pledged to enhance road traffic management in the state's commercial centre. The flyovers, located at Phuti Kothi, Bhanwarkuan, Khajrana, and Luv-Kush intersections, were opened with Vedic rituals. These projects, completed in two years, aim to ease congestion for around 7.50 lakh vehicles daily.

Yadav emphasised the government's dedication to improving Indore's infrastructure. He stated, "In the coming times, there will not be a single intersection in the city where there will be a traffic jam. Even if we have to build 35 new flyovers for this." This marks the first instance of four flyovers being inaugurated simultaneously in the city's history.
Infrastructure Development and Future Plans
The Chief Minister announced that the Phuti Kothi flyover would be named after Sant Sevalal Maharaj, a respected figure in the Banjara community. Additionally, a new sewerage project worth Rs 400 crore is set to launch soon to address waterlogging issues during the rainy season. These initiatives reflect the government's commitment to urban development.
During the event, Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya raised concerns about drug trafficking in Indore. He claimed that drugs were entering from Pratapgarh in Rajasthan and identified individuals involved in this illegal trade. Vijayvargiya stressed the need for stringent action against those harming Madhya Pradesh's youth through narcotics.
Government's Stance on Drug Trafficking
Reacting to Vijayvargiya's comments, Chief Minister Yadav assured that the state government is serious about combating drug-related issues. He stated, "The Madhya Pradesh government is serious about tackling the drug menace. People involved in the illegal drug trade will not be spared." Yadav affirmed that law enforcement has full authority to act decisively against offenders.
The newly inaugurated flyovers are expected to significantly reduce travel time and fuel consumption for commuters. This development is part of a broader strategy to modernise Indore's transportation infrastructure and improve overall urban mobility.
These efforts underscore the administration's focus on addressing both traffic congestion and social issues like drug trafficking. By enhancing infrastructure and enforcing strict measures against illegal activities, the government aims to foster a safer and more efficient environment for residents.
