Indian Railways To Run Special Trains For Diwali, Chhath Puja| Check List Of Special Trains
To address the surge in passenger traffic during India's cherished Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals, Indian Railways has announced the operation of several special trains. This initiative is to ensure that the large number of people traveling home, especially from UP, Bihar, and Jharkhand, can do so smoothly and efficiently during these auspicious occasions. The special services include a mix of daily, biweekly, and weekly trains connecting major cities to various destinations, ensuring that passengers have ample options for their journey back home.
Among the special schedules, the LTT-Danapur Daily Special will run from October 22 to November 11, departing from Mumbai's LTT at 10:30 am and arriving in Danapur the next day at 6:30 pm. The return journey, Danapur-LTT Daily Special, will operate from October 23 to November 12, leaving Danapur at 9:30 pm and reaching LTT on the third day at 4:50 am. These daily services are designed to cater to the high demand for travel between these destinations during the festival season.

Weekly and Biweekly Special Trains Announced
Moreover, for those looking to travel between Pune and Danapur, the Pune-Danapur Daily Special will operate from October 25 to November 7, departing Pune at 3:30 pm and reaching Danapur the next day at 2:00 am. The return segment will see trains running from October 27 to November 9, leaving Danapur at 5:30 am and arriving in Pune at 6:15 pm the following day. This connection aims to facilitate a seamless travel experience for passengers between the two cities.
The LTT-Danapur Biweekly Special will serve travelers on October 26, 28, and November 2, 4, departing from LTT at 12:15 pm and arriving in Danapur the next day at 5:00 pm. The return trips will be on October 27, 29, and November 3, 5, leaving Danapur at 6:15 pm and reaching LTT at 11:55 pm the next day. This biweekly service provides an additional option for passengers during the peak travel period.
Connections to Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Agartala
For those heading to Varanasi, the LTT-Banaras Weekly Special will operate from October 30 to November 6, departing LTT at 12:15 pm and reaching Varanasi the next day at 4:05 pm. The return train from Banaras to LTT will run every Thursday between October 31 and November 7, leaving Varanasi at 8:30 pm and arriving at LTT at 11:35 pm the following day.
The LTT Mumbai - Gorakhpur Weekly Special will facilitate travel between LTT and Gorakhpur, departing LTT at 12:15 pm on Fridays and Sundays (25.10.2024, 27.10.2024, 01.11.2024, and 03.11.2024) and reaching Gorakhpur the next day at 18:55 pm. The return service will operate on Saturdays and Mondays (26.10.2024, 28.10.2024, 02.11.2024, and 04.11.2024), departing Gorakhpur at 21:15 pm and arriving at LTT at 07:25 am on the third day.
The LTT Mumbai - Prayagraj Weekly Special will offer services on Tuesdays (29.10.2024 and 05.11.2024), departing LTT at 12:15 pm and arriving in Prayagraj the next day at 11:20 am. The return journey will leave Prayagraj on Wednesdays (30.10.2024 and 06.11.2024) at 18:50 pm and reach LTT at 16:05 pm the following day.
These special trains will make stops at key stations along their routes, ensuring a convenient journey for passengers. The operation of these trains during Diwali and Chhath Puja underscores Indian Railways' commitment to accommodating the surge in travel demand and facilitating a smooth travel experience for individuals heading home to celebrate with their families.
