PM Modi Hoists Tricolour At Red Fort
The Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort will commence with PM Modi being welcomed by senior government and military officials.
This will be followed by an inspection of the Guard of Honour, which will be led by the Indian Navy this year.
Approximately 6,000 special guests, representing various segments of Indian society such as youth, tribal communities, farmers, women, and beneficiaries of government schemes, have been invited to witness the ceremony.
Bomb disposal units, supported by dog squads, have been conducting thorough checks in the vicinity of the Red Fort.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Modi urged citizens to participate in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign by hoisting the national flag at their homes on Independence Day.
The theme for this year's Independence Day is 'Viksit Bharat @ 2047', an idea that aims to see India in the league of developed nations by 2047.

PM Narendra Modi says, "...I would like to express my pain once again, from the Red Fort today. As a society, we will have to think seriously about the atrocities against women that are happening - there is outrage against this in the country. I can feel this outrage.
