In Pics: Trin Trin novel bike sharing project of Mysuru

Mysuru, Feb 16: Trin Trin is the Public Bike Share system of Mysuru. It is a Government of Karnataka project, partially funded by the World Bank under the Global Environment Facility Grant. The project is planned and implemented by the Directorate of Urban Land Transport and Mysuru City corporation.

Public Bike Share is a system where bicycles are owned and operated by a civic administration and its associates, for shared, short-term use by local residents as well as visitors, on an easy rental basis.

The system involves borrowing a bicycle from any 'docking station' across the city and returning the borrowed bicycle after a ride to any 'docking station', as suits the convenience of the rider. At present the system features 52 hubs and 450 bicycles. Here are some pictures of this unique project:

In order to ensure that Trin Trin bikes do not stay idle with the renters during their non-riding hours, users are advised to return their bikes immediately as they reach a hub closest to their destination.
