I’m sorry: Thief writes touching letter to Noida bank

Noida, Dec 23: A thief who failed to rob a bank later wrote a letter seeking an apology for his crime.

The incident took place in Sector 6 of Noida where an amateur thief came to steal money from a Canara Bank on Sunday night but failed, he then wrote a touching letter to the bank apologising for his crime.

According to Times of India report, in his letter, the thief wrote that it was his first attempt to rob the bank and that he was forced to do so. The thief wrote that he was poor and desperate. He said that he recently lost his job and doesn't have money to feed his family.

"I lost my job in a private company. I have a family and children. It is very difficult to maintain family due to price rise and inflation. This was my first attempt to rob the bank and I failed," said the thief in the letter.

Police official has been quoted in the report as saying that the thief broke into bank with sophisticated tools and instruments but failed to find strongroom and safe.

Police said they have confiscated the letter written by thief for further investigation.

Meanwhile, investigation is on into the matter.
