Haryana Governor Suspends Election Official On AAP Candidate's Complaint, Read Details Here
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Governor of Haryana Bandaru Dattatreya took strict action against Kaithal's Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), SDM Braham Parkash. According to the reports, the Governor ordered the suspension of ARO after a case of using foul language in a poll document came to light.
The reports said an official from ARO's office used inappropriate language against an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate who had filed an application to seek permission for two poll rallies in the district.

The ARO's office discovered that it was a computer operator who allegedly used 'inappropriate language' while denying permission for poll rallies. The incident prompted SDM Braham Parkash to suspend five computer operators working in his office and also directed police to investigate the matter and take stringent actions.
Reacting to the incident, Haryana AAP chief and Candidate from Kurukshetra constituency, Sushil Gupta said he had submitted a request to seek permission to organize two poll rallies on April 7, which were rejected with abuses as reason mentioned.
"In the reply we received, in one case, it was mentioned in writing that the permission has been rejected. In another, abuses were mentioned in the column where reasons for either approval or rejection have to be given," Sushil Gupta alleged.
"Nothing can be more shameful than the use of such objectionable language", the AAP leader said while requesting the Election Commission to take cognizance of the serious and shameful incident.
Speaking with the media, SDM Parkash said he has suspended five computer operators and directed the police officials to investigate the matter. However, the SDM did not rule out the possibility that the State Election Commission's portal might have been hacked.
The state will go under polling on May 25 in the 6th phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024, and the counting of votes will be held on June 4 across the country.
