G20 Summit: Shops To Remain Closed, No Pay Cut For Employees
Ahead of the G20 Summit in the national capital, the Delhi government on Tuesday directed all the sops to remain closed between September 8-10. However, employees will be granted paid holidays for these days.

The notice issued by the Delhi Government read, "All employers of Shops, Commercial and Business Establishments functioning in New Delhi, District of NCT of Delhi shall close their Shops, Commercial and Business Establishments from 08/09/2023 to 10/09/2023 and grant paid holiday to their employees/workers."
With an aim to help tourists and delegates of the G20 Summit with the current updates of real-time traffic for commuting, a virtual help desk has been introduced by the Delhi Police.
The help desk, https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/dtpg20info, facilitates maps, police services, social media updates, and medical requirements.
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal approved the proposal to declare a public holiday from 8th to 10th September in Delhi, in view of the G20 summit.
On August 18, Special Police Commissioner Madhup Tiwari of the Delhi Police wrote to the chief secretary, suggesting the government declare a public holiday from September 8-10 and issue directions for the closure of commercial establishments located mostly in the New Delhi area in view of the G20 Summit.
Reportedly, the entire area of New Delhi will be marked as "Controlled Zone-I" from 5 AM on September 8 to 11.59 PM on September 10. However, special permission is granted to bonafide residents, authorised vehicles, and emergency vehicles to travel on the road network of the national capital.
The G20 Summit is going to take place in New Delhi on September 9-10. Attendees of the biggest Summit will comprise 29 heads of state as well as top officials of the European Union and invited guest countries and 14 heads of international organisations.
