Full Weather Forecast: IMD Issues Rain And Thunderstorm Alerts For Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, And More

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, across several states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep for the week ahead.

From October 28 to 30, states like Goa, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, and Konkan are also expected to experience thunderstorms and lightning.

Key Weather Alerts

The IMD has issued warnings for heavy downpours in isolated areas of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Lakshadweep. Additionally, regions such as Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, and Ladakh are likely to see similar weather patterns during the same period. The forecast suggests widespread thunderstorms and moderate rainfall, impacting various parts of India.

Cyclone Dana Impact in Odisha

Cyclone Dana has severely affected parts of Odisha, with over 50,000 homes in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara districts still waiting for power restoration. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated that the final phase of restoration work is underway, and roads blocked by debris have been cleared.

More than 8 lakh people have been evacuated to 6,210 shelters, as rivers continue to swell from the cyclone's impact, leading to heavy rains, particularly in Bhadrak. Emergency rescue teams have managed to save 24 individuals from the flood-affected regions.

• Delhi: Clear skies are expected on Monday, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 34°C. However, air quality remains a concern, with the AQI recorded at a hazardous level of 355 on Sunday afternoon. Several areas like Burari, Bawana, and Jahangirpuri, along with Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram, reported 'very poor' air quality.
