The security deployment extends beyond the state police, with central forces such as the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) actively participating in the preparations. Special DG Prashant Kumar emphasized the magnitude of this security undertaking for the UP Police, characterizing it as both a challenge and an opportunity. Stringent measures, including traffic diversions and restricted entry for unauthorized vehicles, have been implemented starting from the ceremony day.

Key Security Measures:

  • Two NSG sniper teams are positioned in the city, with requests made for 25 VR cars, 10 vehicle-mounted jammers, and six vehicle-mounted X-ray baggage scanners from the Centre.
  • Over 10,000 CCTV cameras, some incorporating AI-based technology, are strategically placed throughout Ayodhya for strict surveillance.
  • Anti-mine drones are deployed to inspect the ground for potential explosives or mines.
  • RAF personnel are stationed at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk ahead of the January 22 ceremony.
  • At Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, an anti-bomb squad and dog squads conduct thorough vehicle checks for devotees and dignitaries, allowing entry only to those with valid passes.
  • AI-supported drones conduct aerial surveillance across Ayodhya.
  • Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) personnel patrol Ayodhya in civil uniforms, emphasizing discreet yet comprehensive security measures.
  • The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) establishes a camp near the shrine in Ayodhya to respond to any contingencies.
  • Nearly 100 SSF commandos, trained by the NSG in specialized anti-terror tactics, are strategically positioned in and around the temple complex.
  • CRPF troops are deployed in the main temple to cordon off the sanctum sanctorum, housing the idol of Lord Ram.
