For Keeping His Feet On World Cup Trophy, Case Filed Against Aussie Cricketer Mitchell Marsh
After the first picture surfaced on the internet showing Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh keeping his feet on the World Cup, a case has been filed against him in Uttar Pradesh.
A leader of an activist group has filed a police complaint against Marsh, police told PTI. On Tuesday, Pandit Keshav Dev, the president of Bhrashtachar Virodhi Sena, filed a complaint at the Delhi Gate Police Station in Aligarh.

"A complaint has been received. But so far a case has not been registered and further procedure will follow only after receiving a report from the cyber cell," Superintendent of Police (City) Mrigank Shekhar said.
In his complaint, Keshav Dev claimed that the Australian cricketer, through his actions, had insulted the people of India and showed disrespect to the trophy presented by "the Prime Minister of the country."
The Kangaroos defeated the Men in Blue in the recently concluded World Cup final where the Australia side defeated India by six wickets.
Marsh's gesture raised eyebrows, as many social media users contended that it demonstrated Marsh's lack of respect for both the World Cup trophy and the sport of cricket. Echoing these sentiments, India's star seamer Mohammed Shami expressed being hurt by Marsh's actions.
"I am hurt. The trophy for which all the teams in the world fight, the trophy which you want to lift over your head, keeping a foot on that trophy did not make me happy," Shami said on Thursday.
