First joint anti-Modi stir by opposition from May 1 onwards
The event comes at a time when a joint opposition is already in talks to elect a President of its choice.
The opposition which has decided to unite to beat the BJP will launch its first anti-Modi stir from May 1 onwards. The Congress would lead the stir backed by the Left, Janata Dal (United) and the Samajwadi Party. This first anti-Modi stir would be held on May 1 which is Labour Day.

The opposition leaders would share the stage at an event called, "Progressive Unity," in New Delhi to highlight the misdoings of the Narendra Modi government at the centre.
The event comes at a time when a joint opposition is already in talks to elect a President of its choice. The opposition led by Congress president Sonia Gandhi have been holding a series of talks for the past week ahead of the Presidential elections to be held in July.
Pranab Mukherjee's term as President of India comes to an end on July and there is no clarity either by the ruling BJP or the opposition whether they intend giving him a second term.
The meeting to be held on May 1 would focus on the economic policies of the Modi government. The opposition had united following the decision on demonetisation and even launched a nation-wide stir against the same. During a meeting of the Congress and Left leaders recently it was decided that nation-wide agitations against the Modi government would held regularly.
