FIR against Digvijaya Singh for 'hate' tweet on Madrasas

The Hyderabad police on Monday registered an FIR against Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for hurting religious sentiments of Muslims. The leader's tweet on Madrasas had created a furore last week.

Digvijaya Singh had tweeted that madrasas are much like schools run by the RSS that spread hatred. His tweet was slammed by many including political and Muslim leaders.

The tweet was condemned by many islamic organisations including those from Hyderabad.

Following a complaint against the leader, the police filed an FIR.
