Daughter-in-Law of IMC Chief's Brother Alleges Attack by Unidentified Assailant

Nida Khan, daughter-in-law of Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan's brother, claims she was attacked by an unidentified man. Police are investigating threats and reviewing CCTV footage.

Nida Khan, related to the Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC) chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, reported an attack by an unknown individual. According to police, the incident occurred around 9 pm on Tuesday. A man dressed in black entered her home, brandished a knife, and attempted to harm her. Her screams caused him to flee, threatening her life as he escaped.

Inspector Dhananjay Pandey stated that Nida Khan has accused her estranged husband, Shiran Raza, and his associate Tauqeer Raza of orchestrating the attack. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage for further evidence. Additionally, Khan has been receiving abusive messages and threats through social media and internet-generated calls.

Allegations Against IMC Chief's Followers

Khan claims that followers of the IMC chief have been intimidating her. She has urged the police to take decisive action against those involved. The IMC chief, Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, is currently imprisoned due to his alleged role in the violence on September 26 in Bareilly related to the "I Love Muhammad" campaign.

The violence erupted after a protest call by Tauqeer Raza Khan when police denied permission for a demonstration supporting the campaign. Clashes ensued between police and a large crowd outside a mosque in Bareilly following Friday prayers.

The Ala Hazrat family, to which Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan belongs, is renowned for its religious influence within the Barelvi movement of Sunni Islam. They are descendants of Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi (1856-1921), a respected Islamic scholar, jurist, Sufi, and reformer known as Ala Hazrat.

This family holds significant spiritual authority due to their contributions to Islamic scholarship and spirituality. Their influence extends widely within the Barelvi community, known for its scholastic achievements.
