DUSU Election Result 2024: ABVP Or NSUI, Who Will Win Delhi University Elections? Check Results Date
DUSU Election Result 2024: The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) election results for 2024 are set to be announced on November 21. This follows a two-month delay from the original date of September 28, which was postponed due to defacement issues that required judicial intervention. A university official confirmed this new date.
On September 27, elections were conducted in two phases. Day class students voted between 8:30 am and 1 pm, while evening class students cast their votes from 3 pm to 7 pm. Out of the 1.45 lakh eligible voters, only 51,379 participated, marking the lowest turnout in a decade.

Vote Counting and Security Measures
The vote counting process is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am on November 21 at the DU Conference Centre. An Election Commission team will oversee the proceedings. The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been securely stored in a strong room at the examination department, with police monitoring them continuously.
For DUSU's central panel positions—president, vice president, secretary, and joint secretary—EVMs were used. Meanwhile, college representatives were elected through ballot papers. These ballot boxes have been kept secure within individual colleges.
Judicial Intervention and Conditions
The Delhi High Court had initially stayed the results due to widespread defacement caused by campaign materials. However, on Monday, the court conditionally lifted this stay. The university can announce results by November 26 if all defacement is addressed.
A Delhi University official stated that preparations for the November 21 counting are ongoing. "Most of the cleaning work has already been completed," they said. The EVMs and ballot papers will be opened in front of the Election Commission's team to ensure transparency.
The High Court's decision allows for counting to proceed once campaign-related defacement is cleaned up. This ruling provides a clear path forward for announcing the election results within the stipulated timeframe.
