Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Orders Uncut Power Supply for Diwali Festivities
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to ensure an uninterrupted power supply across the state from 28 October to 15 November. This period coincides with several Hindu festivals. The directive was given during a meeting with divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and senior police officials. Adityanath emphasised that Power Corporation must prepare adequately to achieve this goal.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of maintaining emergency health and trauma services without disruption. He stressed that doctors should be readily available in both urban and rural areas. "Emergency health and trauma services must continue without interruption. Doctors should be easily accessible in all areas, whether in villages or cities," he said.
Ensuring Safety and Transport
Adityanath addressed the issue of food adulteration, which tends to rise during festival times. He called for intensified food safety inspections while ensuring no harassment occurs under the guise of these checks. "In light of the upcoming festivals, food safety inspections should be intensified, but care must be taken to ensure there is no harassment under the pretext of inspections," he stated.
The transport department has been instructed to increase bus services on rural routes to accommodate people’s movement during the festive season. Buses that are not in good condition should not be allowed on roads, he added.
Maintaining Law and Order
The Chief Minister underscored the need for strict law enforcement and continuous communication with society. Police have been ordered to remain vigilant at all times. He noted that a positive atmosphere prevailed during past celebrations like Raksha Bandhan, Durga Puja, and Eid due to strong teamwork and public cooperation.
Adityanath warned against any attempts to disturb peace and called for strict actions against such activities. He also ordered increased vigilance on social media platforms, with each district deploying a team for constant monitoring.
Firecracker Safety and Social Welfare
Regarding firecracker safety, Adityanath instructed that shops and warehouses should be situated away from populated areas in open spaces. Licences and NOCs must be issued promptly, and illegal storage of firecrackers should face strict action.
Additionally, he directed that all beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana receive free LPG cylinders before Diwali. This initiative aims to ensure that households have access to cooking gas during the festive period.
The Chief Minister's directives aim to ensure a smooth and safe festive season across Uttar Pradesh. By focusing on power supply, health services, transport, law enforcement, food safety, and social welfare, the government seeks to create a harmonious environment for all residents during this time.
